Office Manager/Assistant

Join our team at Steven H. Mangan, CPA.   We're always looking for smart, talented, self-starters who want to achieve and who know what it takes to make a difference. We're a small company where you will be involved in the day-to-day activities of the organization. You will be the first person our clients contact, making you highly visible within the organization

 General Description:     A part-time position responsible for all areas relating to marketing and financial reporting.    

Location:                      Prior Lake, MN

 Primary Position Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Schedule appointments, maintain and update calendar using Outlook
  • Assist in the preparation of client payroll checks and reports.
  • Data entry of tax and financial information
  • Manage client billings using Practice CS
  • Prepare weekly WIP reports
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
  • Assist in reporting of monthly financial information
  • Filing of clients documents and tax returns using a paperless environment  
  • Prepare client bank reconciliations
  • Reconciliation of various financial accounts on a monthly basis
  • Assist in development and implantation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the organization
  • Assist in the management and oversight of social media including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
  • Develop and monitor traffic that will enhance and bring value to web users

Desired Skills & Experience

 Requirements: 

  • Effectively communicate with staff and external clients
  • Ability to work accurately with numbers in a high volume environment / skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data
  • Ability to manage multiple projects / tasks
  • Strong problem solving, verbal, and writing skills
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in related areas
  • Ability to grow in other areas
  • PC Proficient (Excel, Word, Accounting Software Packages)
  • Willingness to work the hours needed to get the job done
  • Minimum experience of one tax season (including any internship)
